Serama hatch part 3 (and a few odds and ends!)

Everyone is a black yellow floof mix. Lol. Even Dolly's baby had black yellow floof! (Well I say Dolly's baby, but we both know she don't lay blue tinted eggs)

Serama hatch part 3 (and a few odds and ends!)

One BB hatched and I swear it's smaller than the Seramas!

Serama hatch part 3 (and a few odds and ends!)

Here are the 2 americanas, Serama, and whatever popped out the pure olive egg. Something tells me they all have similar DNA with those colors.

Serama hatch part 3 (and a few odds and ends!)

    Btw I had 7 hatch from the 24 variety. Numbers 8, 14, and 15 didn't make it :(

Serama hatch part 3 (and a few odds and ends!)

Hand em over! I have only one broody who hatched her first egg early!

Serama hatch part 3 (and a few odds and ends!)

Only if you give me silkie eggs lol

Serama hatch part 3 (and a few odds and ends!)

I have 2 now. They are "broody for the day" as I call it now. Only Dolly is committed.

Serama hatch part 3 (and a few odds and ends!)

I hope so too. I need to find my candler but my small two legged heathens played with it. No telling where they put it. Butt heads.

Serama hatch part 3 (and a few odds and ends!)

Like today. Big Ole egg. Def was not there before. Might have a double yolk. I didn't see one when I candled. Dolly is down to five eggs btw. I saw darkness but didn't see movement. My candler is missing so had to use the rinky dink one on the incubator.

Serama hatch part 3 (and a few odds and ends!)

Btw btw....if Dolly gets off her eggs....and it's 85 here WITHOUT heat index (it's actually closer to 90-95 most days) then they should be okay for awhile right? She is never off more then 30 minutes and that's in the middle of the day. Plus someone always goes and sits on the eggs (I assume to...

Serama hatch part 3 (and a few odds and ends!)

Sounds like a mess! Lol. Hope you find some peace in that chaos you have over there. ❤️

Serama hatch part 3 (and a few odds and ends!)

Btw how long can eggs just relax without a broody on top before they are in danger? I have a chicken who keeps being broody but only for a few hours each day. I take the eggs after she refuses to come back. Like is perched on top of the run with everyone else sleeping.
  13. ElfenLied89

Serama hatch part 3 (and a few odds and ends!)

Yeah. I don't want the little floofs getting hurt. So brooder duplex it is! Lol. Guess we will wait to see how Dolly's eggs do!
  14. ElfenLied89

Serama hatch part 3 (and a few odds and ends!)

And if I wait a week will she take them if they are small? Or is it other factors to why she wouldnt?
  15. ElfenLied89

Serama hatch part 3 (and a few odds and ends!)

Yes. They need to come out the incubator either today or tomorrow. Def by tomorrow as the older 3 will be on day 3.
  16. ElfenLied89

Serama hatch part 3 (and a few odds and ends!)

Since they are tiny she will accept them anyways?
  17. ElfenLied89

Serama hatch part 3 (and a few odds and ends!)

And Nugget has fuzz down the legs. So the mom had fuzz down the legs. Maybe Luna was it's mom! Luna has yellow dragon like fert and is a dark brahma. Ooooo. Guess we will see.
  18. ElfenLied89

Serama hatch part 3 (and a few odds and ends!)

Yeah. I expect some "Hey there you're new" pecks lol. I just want the Seramas to be protected. I do have Nugget who is double their size. I think Kithara is the dad bc of the legs. They go from grey to orange. Kithara is the only orange legged one I have. Everyone else is gray or pink or pale...

Serama hatch part 3 (and a few odds and ends!)

Oh! And I have a decent size cat litter box with a lid. Can always put her in there with the eggs. It's a bit deep though. Thoughts? The ducks are about 8 to 10 weeks old as well. They are Jumbo Pekins.

Serama hatch part 3 (and a few odds and ends!)

I can always finish her eggs in the incubator? Idk. I just thought they'd do well with a broody. I only have one broody though so it's either hope she takes the Seramas, or put them in my brooder tote duplex. (Which now has a camera and two lids)
