"High" depends on what you are comparing them to. They are not high enough to be useful in this case. Compared with a layer feed meant for chickens or ducks, they are not high enough to be useful. https://www.mdpi.com/2075-4450/13/9/831 Here is one paper talking about the nutrients in them. It...

I have read that you can avoid that by mixing salt or sugar into them before freezing. I have not personally tried that, but I have tried freezing cookie dough to bake later, and there were no problems with the eggs in it.

Poking around a bit more about duck genetics.... https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/blue-swedish-cross-genetics-pics-added.228086/ Someone had Blue Swedish males with a Khaki Campbell female and a Runner female. All ducklings looked like Swedish (blue or black) And these bits in a...

My concern was where it said, "There may be another dominant bibbing gene as well that is linked to extended black, or that type of bibbing may be an interaction effect, we are not sure." And "B+ This is the wild type dominant not-bibbed allele. Any duck having this allele will not have a...

I don't really know duck genetics, but I found this article: https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/mallard-derived-duck-color-genetics-basics.74277/ Depending on which males are involved, it may be possible to sort out the mothers of at least some ducklings. When they hatch, maybe take...

So you are trying to figure out if there is any blue in that egg or not? Because the brown is on the outside of the shell, but blue goes all the way through, it sometimes helps to crack the egg open and look at the inside to see if there is an blue or not. Peeling back the membrane can make the...

I noticed something similar with coloring on a dog, except that I thought of it as an advantage to the dog's owner to be able to see the white markings in the dark. A white tail tip looks kind of funny bouncing along in the dark when the black dog can't be seen
