Made chicken salad with lots of home made pickles yesterday. Will have the rest for supper tonight.

I cooked a big pot of beans I dried from last summers garden. I put in some cured ham to season them. Hubby grilled smoked sausage to have on the side. It was yummy comfort food.

Purple hull peas (freezer) from summers garden and green onions growing now. I added some bits of country ham to the peas for seasoning. Also had some sweet potatoes an sausage fom the small mom and pop grocer nearby! It was a yummy feast!

And make great leftovers. No cooking today!

We had a cool, rainy, windy day yesterday. Tropical Storm Ophelia passed right through our area. It was also the first day of fall. So I made veggie soup. Lots of different beans and tomatoes from the garden and a bit of beef. Haven't made soup in a while so it was extra good.

Some county agricultural extension offices will test canning pressure gages. If you wanted it tested give them a call.

Stir fried some yellow squash, zucchini, and sweet onion with a bit of bacon. Also green beans and a slice of tomato.
