Brought legs in for a lap session with a slice of bread for a morning treat. He's perched on the porch rail and I get a hug every time I pass by. He is spoiled to say the least. Once Shuster gets his tail feathers back I want to get so actions shots of him as he is a real strutter.
He's up on the porch now waiting. He knows that it is time for a slice of fresh bread. He eats a little starter/grower in the mornings and gets a lunch time treat then it's off to free range some.
Canopies are not big enough to cover our coops. I have a large vinyl tarp I'm cutting up into pieces that will cover the areas that can let blowing horizontal rain in. It's blowing rain that gets us not the downward falling rain. We had to learn as we went and still learning as we go. Working on...
I have a small 2 panel hoop coop with 2 pet hens and a rooster. the two hens were still wet today from the rain a day before. I've got to make some modifications to stop blowing rain on them but still get good ventilation in summer's heat.
