So I'm very new to all this but it seems that some hybrid type birds are the same but have different names ie golden comet = red cross. I'm wondering if whiting true blue is essentially just a different name for prarie bluebell egger? Whiting true green = starlight green egger ?

Sad to report that a raccoon dug under the tractor around 5pm yesterday and killed all of our chickens. The raccoon didn't make it either. I guess they aren't strictly nocturnal. Wife and kids are very upset and I'm not doing much better. Thanks to everyone who took an interest in this thread...

Also for anyone interested the reason there are 7 is because Agway in Danbury, CT was doing a buy 6 get 1 free. Helping the new folks get started with the chicken math. Not sure if they still are having a sale or if it's only that agway.

I think I'm going to build a stationary "base" for the Dec-March stretch that's more predator proof at the ground. I want it to be mobile because these birds won't be getting more than a few hrs a week of free range time, so kind of trying to simulate that in a way.
It would be easier to figure out if I knew which one of the 7 breeds listed above snowball is supposed to be... next time I'll have to think of a way to label them or something
