Yes I waited a bit and put them out there with a lamp and plate they did great I just have one runt and lost one turkey that went native and decided he wanted to be wild. Neither of those can be attributed to going outside that early lol.
One of my buddies that hunts just showed me this place

I don’t personally hunt but it seems like that might be a little unsportsmanlike to “hunt” a royal palm and bourbon red
For housing I’ll defer to someone more knowledgeable for now id find a way to keep them inside until you can get a permanent arrangement made. I had a huge area for my poultry as they live in a coop I made from a single car garage in the barn on our property. So I am not well versed in this...
They can live a good life as long as you give them the correct environment and plenty of exercise. I have a broad breasted white hen that runs around with my chickens and will literally run from 100yds away to greet me when I get home. These little ones won’t live nearly as long as a heritage...
you’re gonna need a bigger shelter. As far as raising them it’s the same as chickens they are a little more fragile but as long as you provide them high quality food and clean water along with heat they will do great.
I highly recommend spending the money on a name brand gamebird starter to...
Good deal thank you
Yes I had to give my two toms away because they likes the road but I have a hen that’s my avatar picture and two little ones growing up right now.
Awesome I let my birds out before I go to work every day which is before the sun comes up and they are always waiting on me. The turkey is kind of lazy but the chickens are ready to go.
Deep litter is a great idea. I’d say one bag of the tax white bag pine shavings would do that coop for at least a week if you shuffle it around a couple times.
Got my new crew introduced to free ranging and noticed this little girl is completely different from anyone else. My purchase was four barred rocks and four black copper marans so whatever she is came from one of those bins at rural king.
Generally I don’t care what breed is what as long as...
If you have a vocational school near you they take stuff like that in as projects for free. That’s the kind of stuff I looked forward too when I was in welding school as a break in the monotony
I will add that if you run in to the issue of everything being wet and damp preventing them from dust bathing then you may need to make them a spot. I’ve had to do that before in the really wet times of fall here
I usually add some diatomaceous earth to their usual dust bath spots and it does the trick. If you are going to tractor supply anyway it is very cheap and your birds will thank you for it.
As for sevin dust I’d ask a veterinary specialist because i don’t know if them breathing it would be safe.
I kept them together they will try to mate her but they can’t really accomplish it if you free range them she can get away. If you aren’t then I would probably have them separate
