6 weeks hen or roo. this is turtle a six week old Barnevelder chick i am not sure why he has got no lacing he came from a silver laced barnevelder hen and splash barnevelder roo. turtle has siblings 1 week younger i will show images of them if you want but i just need too know their gender...

may i add the both had decent tail feathers at 1 week so i’m not sure if that applies too this breed but we have 1 barnevelder in the brooder who is three weeks and only just started developing tail feathers. Edit: but you can see in the images that they have got pretty big legs

Here is chick 2 who is very clearly not what the person said they were but they are very sweet and fall alseep when you hold them but other then that they act like every other chick! Edit: they’re also very clearly a frizzle!

2 Week update here is chick 1 “Chunk” they are both relatively calm except they will fight occasionally with but so do the other chicks so i’m not sure if that’s a bad thing or roo behaviour not much else they are both very friendly but so is every other bird in the brooded i will update again...

i am aware that they may become aggressive and the first time one has even the slightest bit of aggression towards a hen or a person they will be taken care of. i plan on having the rooster pen far enough away too the point they can’t see eachother should i have them side by side?

She payed bloddy eggs for the next week i believe she got a tear from a big egg and kept re-tearing it when she would lay again she has no oth symptoms of coccidiosis and she hasn’t once acted out.

she is one year old bright red comb and wattle she is acting normal she gets fed layer pellets and scratch mix 2x a day i will feel her crop tommorow morning and she is the only one laying bloody eggs
