The Seramas are coming up on lockdown soooooon! I candled yesterday and everyone is perfect in there! Everyone is still alive and growing.

Around day 18. I always pop mine in at some point on day 18. For the most part they hatch (or at least pip) on day 21.

Here is what Starburst is looking like!

On today's episode of Jerry Springchicken, We have "who are my mom and dad?" Here we have Starburst, a freshly hatched chicken baby. She claims aliens stole her, and she does not know who her mother or father is. She also claims she could be the daughter of multiple different roosters...

Starburst is currently zipping!

Sing that song baby! Starburst heard the singing and is hatching!

Long as she isn't off her eggs too long. I have incubator room now (a bunch of eggs didn't develop) but still would rather her hatch em.

Lockdown is where you either take the turner out, or set them in a separate incubator (like I have to do), and don't move them until they hatch! They need to stay still so they can get their hatch on.

She's doing a good job. She only stays off nest for an hour or so to eat and drink. It's so hot during the day (high 80s and low 90s without heat index added), she should be fine right?

Oh. And Dolly Parton will hatch her eggs around the 28th.

Tuesday is lockdown day for the Seramas. I will put them all in, even though #'s 9-15 are a day behind. Starburst is already in there. Aaaaaand any of the variety eggs that make it go into lockdown on the 22nd.

Doubt it bc the nest is an old dresser and has....lemme show you. Its boxes and off the ground. Idk how she'd move em. See how each one is a box off the ground? Unless she has arms somehow and then she needs to clean up lol.

He roared too hard. Next time he better roar a little more quieter.

They aren't ready yet. I candled earlier. Everyone was fine except #5.

She had TWELVE eggs today. I have 9 marked. So any other ones I will remove daily of she let's me or if I find her off the nest.
