It it very hard to tell at that age, but you should be able to tell at 1 month because a male chicks comb will start to come up and get red.

Here is my Cochin, (first 3 pics) and some other chickens we have.

A mean rooster will pick on other chickens and be very protective to the point where he might attack you! So be careful. A kind rooster will still be protective but not be as aggressive.

The chicken tractor (with the two month old chicks) has a small wire nesting box with plenty of air to flow through.

Awesome! Thank you both. We will put her in a cage and isolate her for a little while. Do you think she could go in a chicken tractor with 6 other 2month old chickens? They are at two months and the same size of her, with easy access to food and water.
