I think I'm going to put 6 of the Black Silver, Blue Silver, Splash under her and incubate the other 6. And then try to slip the 6 chicks under her at hatch.
I'm stressing about it.
He's talking softly (purring) to his girls, they do it a lot in the nest box or when they find a tight cubby hole their telling the hens this is a really good spot to lay an egg. My two boys do it all the time.... 🙂
I was thinking it might be related to Betty (dam mossy pullets) being from hatchery and not knowing her genetics.
I do have quite a few more screenshots I saved from that conversation between @Chooks man and @Punkybrewster related to the mossy pullets. Still researching it......
I just got eggs shipped from Montana to Michigan. 1,442 miles. Shipped Priority Monday May 20- Eta of May 23. They arrived May 22.

Glad you were able to be there in time. Wind is super heavy today also and storms forecasted. I'm trying to get Raven in her own space now that she's broody committed (3 now 🙂). Down to 2 nest boxes...
I changed out leg bands yesterday and was meaning to take individual pics of all 8, but thunderstorms rolling in put a halt to that and had to put everyone on lockdown. Will try today......
