I have a breeding pair of Cayugas. Female just hatched out a whole nest of ducklings and a feral cat got all the babies. We just bought a trap for the cat, but my question is while she go broody again this season? Should I see about a few babies for her? I've never had ducks hatch out ducklings...

He should be 3 years now, the girls are both on their second season. I never got any fertile eggs from them last year either, chalked it up to stress of moving to our property and being young.

Booby number 2 finally hatched with a tiny bit of help and a little lube. He was all kinds of crazy twisted up in there. He's doing perfectly well now, and I just can't believe they both survived. The End.
