I am so far behind, so this may well have been addressed or resolved...BUT:
If it is light, exploratory/inquisitive pecks it is okay. BUT if it is hard pecks, you want to discourage that immediately - those won't be so cute when he is a full grown roo. Firmly state 'no' and move hand away...
OMG - those cute fluffy legs - and in that gangly stage - be still my heart!!!
I assume Xmarshmallows will give them the bold curiosity to be exploring their new home in no time.
@Ponypoor what has worked for me in the past when I had a splayed leg chick was this:
Get a short tumbler/glass that is a bit narrower on the bottom/base than the chick....think maybe a whiskey glass or short water glass. Put the chick in it for 10-15 minute intervals (as it gets stronger, up...
Hi All,
I am still so far behind! I think I am making progress...only to log on the next day and see that there were 16 pages since I was last logged in.:th:eek::th
What I really, really wanted to share, though, is this:
This is from a colleague of mine - she left it on my desk Friday when...
I am sorry - I just could not stp laughing at that video - running her little feet off - only to realize mom wants her to go to bed.
... Quick hide under the chair, .... the fast walk retreat! Nope, not going. Why do you try to trick me into going to bed? Don't you know teens & young adults...
Oh, Alex, I am so sorry for your loss. I know this is belated - but I am sending lots of hugs your way.
Jaffar took on your littles - think of them as his legacy.
:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs
awww - so sorry I missed that one when the caption was running. I would have put "Walk like an Egyption" Too funny!
@BY Bob - so happy for you Sydney's photo was picked - certainly a great one for the contest!
🤔 Hmmm, you named her AERO because she has big wings and likes to use them. How can she use her wings effectively if both feet are to be firmly planted on the ground at all times?????????🤨🤨
Somehow my comment disappeared:
In the first video: I LOVE how Lilly uses the alternate/extended roost as a U-turn (? round-about?)
I also am amazed at how cool of a cucumber Jabber was: Do-de-dooo. Ignoring the Ladies' mayhem here. Don't try to drag ME into your personal war. Lilly.
He...
Thank you. 🥰 I'm okay - a bit swamped with f/t work + teaching 1/2 time, plus all my chooks and some littles (35 + 7 with a broody) and some other issues going on - plus still need to get my new computer set up....BUT: I did get one! :)
I miss you all and am sooooooo far behind. Hoping to...
I just love how Lilly uses that auxilary roost for a U-turn (round-a-bout?) in the first video!:thumbsup
And poor Jabber - trying very hard to stay non-chalant and OUT of the middle of the Ladies' squabbles!😆[/MEDIA]
You may have found it already -but I would be willing to bet that you posted on here if you did. I do remember that visit - you were certainly NOT going to euthanize at that time as she didn't seem in pain. I remember thinking 'good for you" turns out (imho), good for Maggie, too - as she did...
Okay, so only on for a bit - and I am WAAAAAAYYYY behind. BUT, have you thought of just having a back-up 'generator'? I bought one so I can have power at my main coop/run for a heated waterer in the winter. (Now if I can just get to that project of getting the solar panels set up!)
I got a...
Great, now I have to actually stay off my work computer for personal reasons and set a good example for @Pastel the Rooster and others.
Okay, I really won't be on here until I get my own computer.
Thanks for calling me out, @ChicoryBlue !:D
