Mine decide for themselves whether to stay outside or go inside. They usually don't care how the weather is, especially my middle aged and younger ones. My older group don't mind getting damp and some light snow but heavier stuff, they're heading back in. They'll watch from a window or the door.

I bought 3 several day old guineas about 2 1/2 weeks ago, so they're about 3 weeks now. This one sounds slightly different with the vocals than the other 2. There's almost a 2 part vocal when it chirps. You decide, my gut says female.

I had a buff Orpington rooster that would set on eggs each evening until I collected them. Then he'd leave the nesting box and get on the roost. Never had a cracked or broken egg under him either. He's was always a gentle boy, I could cradle him like a baby.

I was also reading about vent gleet. She's exhibiting some of the same symptoms for it. I'm going to try adding ACV to the water, feed her some plain reduced fat yogurt and get some Miconazole to put on her vent area. It sure won't hurt.

Easiest way to count chickens is at night while they roost. That's when I count mine. I count my ducks after they've come in from free ranging, a task in itself because they don't roost. I corral them an let a few at a time get pass as I count. I've had the occasional "Where are they hiding?"...
