urgent- lethargic chicken after bathing for poopy vent

thanks for your response. i know bathing chickens isn’t always the best but the poop covering her vent seemed like it was maybe what was causing her to act strange and i wanted to get it off immediately. she’s under a heat lamp inside now drying off. i do not know when the last time she has laid...

urgent- lethargic chicken after bathing for poopy vent

my 4 year old beatrice, female easter egger was acting lethargic today and yesterday, but still fairly active around the coop. today i found she had poop stuck to her vent, so i gave her a bath with epsom salts and cut away the feathers. now she is extremely lethargic, keeps falling asleep, and...

    bumblefoot won’t go away

I have a hen with bumblefoot on both feet. She’s had it for quite a while now, and no matter what i try it just will not heal. First my parents took her to the vet, where they debrided both feet and gave us antibiotics and painkillers. My mom and i fed her the medicine twice a day for two weeks...

    Bumblefoot healing

The vet wrapped her feet and the bandages stayed on for a week, but she did not specify for us to re-wrap them once they fell off.

    Bumblefoot healing

Thank you so much for your response! I had heard about the tri-cide neo before, but I was hoping that if we took her to the vet the process would be a lot quicker and less work for us, however I will keep that in mind if she does not heal. Here are some pictures of what her feet look like...

    Bumblefoot healing

I noticed one of my easter eggers had bumblefoot on both feet, so we took her to the vet (yes I know we could have treated her at home but we're all inexperienced, squeamish city people). The vet debrided her feet and gave us some antibiotics and pain killers. We've been giving her the medicine...

    Unusual chicken feet... bumble foot??

Thank you for the advice! When I'm treating the chickens for scaly leg mites should I clean out the coop after all of the chickens are treated, or will the mites take a while to go away?

    Unusual chicken feet... bumble foot??

I noticed one of my girls' feet looked puffier than the other hens, and I'm wondering if she could have bumble foot/ scaly leg mites. I have never had any health problems with my flock of 5 years, so I'm not great at identifying problems. She's not having any trouble walking. Could anyone offer...
