    Is this Bumblefoot?

Oh wow I just posted about something very similar on my girl! https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/have-you-ever-seen-this-bizarre-footpad-growth-formation-not-bumblefoot.1621059/ Does it look the same as yours?

Have you ever seen this...bizarre footpad growth/formation (not bumblefoot)

Fortunately my little girl hasn't had any other issues. I initially thought it could be bumblefoot but didn't find any examples that looked like it. So I've just been cleaning and watching. But I'm sorry to hear about your chicken and her/his tumor.

Yeah it's so bizarre I've been trying to do research on it but it's hard to describe and google haha. But your response makes me feel better. Hopefully it's nothing I plan to keep an eye on it though.

Have you ever seen this...bizarre footpad growth/formation (not bumblefoot)

I noticed mild bumblefoot on my 1 yr old Ameraucana and started treating it and it's now almost healed. While initially soaking her I noticed she has a very odd looking growth/formation on her other foot. I don't think it's bumblefoot and doesn't appear to be a sore or infection. Her footpad...

Did I just do bumblefoot 'surgery' for no reason?

Ok thank you. I've read that there is sometimes no kernel if the infection is caught early. Have you seen that that's the case sometimes? I hate cutting her up to find nothing...

Did I just do bumblefoot 'surgery' for no reason?

Ok I can start soaking her when I clean and rebandage. Was planning in cleaning and rebandaging every 1 or 2 days.

Did I just do bumblefoot 'surgery' for no reason?

So at this point, should I remove the new scab and start all over and start squeezing? How do I know if the infection is fully out?

Did I just do bumblefoot 'surgery' for no reason?

My 1 year old Ameraucana has had a sore (bumblefoot) on her foot for about a month. I've been keeping an eye on it but it hadn't improved and the round scabbed area looked like it was getting darker and more pronounced. Although there's no swelling and she's walking just fine and is completely...

New chicken mom and freaked out.

It's not the worms in particular. It's that treats should be given in a very limited amount (no more than 10% of your regular diet - or 1 tablespoon per girl per day) because they throw off the healthy nutritional balance of a chicken's diet. Just like humans. Some people believe in giving NO...

Yes same calcium citrate as human supplement. That's probably the quickest way to give them calcium. I have 5 laying hens and I do give them all the shells from the eggs we eat. They love it. But still offer them the oyster shell because apparently the eggshell calcium doesn't stay in their...

(EMERGENCY) Hen with broken egg inside body

Hi there. I'm sorry your hen isn't well. I don't think pulling out the membrane is an issue. The issue is more if you accidentally breaking an egg in her from doing it. But the egg has already broken. It's likely she will be able to expell the rest on her own. Keep making sure she's relaxed...

No it usually doesn't go bad. Do you ever give them their own eggshells as a calcium supplement? You just have to bake it and then crush it. They love it and will eat it up like treats! Mine much prefer the dried eggshells over the oyster shells but I mix them and leave them out together.

Do you provide free access to calcium (oyster shells)?
