    Raging mallard drake

I did pin him many times in front of the goose and in the middle of him attacking the goose (so he would know why), but it had no effect. He can’t help himself. They are now separated by a fence and while the duck is furious, my goose is much happier.

Raging Mallard - Ducks Hate the Drake

Yes they are both clipped further now and I’ve raised the fence height. He’s lucky my dog is so kind.

Raging Mallard - Ducks Hate the Drake

He somehow flew over the fence (with clipped wings) so he’s inside right now and trying to attack my poor 50kg dog 🤦‍♀️ Wtf is wrong with ducks.

Raging Mallard - Ducks Hate the Drake

Pancake my little mallard drake was bullying one of my geese relentlessly and I’ve followed this people on this site advice and separated them. So far, success. Also it turns out part of the problem was that they both feel they own me and so I now don’t pet them in each others view. But now a...

    Raging mallard drake

The runners are a year and 2-3 years. I don’t suppose my drake will ever chill out a bit. You know since he’s a wild mallard with a set breeding period unlike domestic ducks? Or will he just get worse come spring and stay that way

    Raging mallard drake

My faithful little drake is an a-hole. He’s a wild Mallard (not protected in my country) that I raised after finding him as a day old baby in a busy road September 2023. He’s not mean to me but he persecutes one of my geese mercilessly. Maybe she’s a gander? He was hand raised alongside my two...

    Duck Behaviour

Oh yes definitely the head shake. Well I’m glad it’s not ‘go away’ behaviour!’

    Duck Behaviour

Thank you! I was wondering whether he was trying to flirt with me or warn me off. Kinda offended when I’ve raised him since he was a day old!

    Duck Behaviour

Does anyone know what this behaviour by my drake means? I put it on instagram in case someone (even hunters!) knew but no luck.

Normal Growth Rates for Pilgrim Geese

Ta da! These are photos from the weekend, so that's how fast they grow and change. That is encouraging, thank you. Your geese are beautiful.

Normal Growth Rates for Pilgrim Geese

I have two 10 week old geese, unsexed. I would like to know what normal growth rates are for them. Background: Same dad, probably different mothers. They were sold to me as pilgrim geese, I don't know how accurate that is because the seller's flock was not colour true and she inherited the...
