Lemon-Drop

Hi! I’m a human! (Surprise!) aka Lemon-Drop. My real name is Charlotte, but you can just call me Lemon. Or Charlotte. Or whatever you want (as long as it’s honoring to God, please!) I’m super happy to be a member of BYC! I live in Western Washington, and have my entire life.

I love chickens with a passion, and I’ve continued to grow in knowledge about them over the past few years. I have three chickens, a Sapphire Gem named Safaia, a Brahma named Cupcake, and a partridge Silkie named Nutmeg.

I love this community of poultry lovers (and those who just want to have fun!) My favorite thing is helping people and their animals out. I'm not super experienced, but I do what I can!

I love, love, love animals. I’m able to connect with animals more than other people. But I’m working on that, and through the grace of God am improving!

If I’m not with the chickens, you will probably find me baking, reading, praying, eating good food, studying the Bible, drawing, at church, or outside enjoying the great outdoors. I am obsessed with chocolate, and I have a major sweet tooth. I also love horses! I take once a week lessons riding a paint named Rain. One of my favorite parts of the day is my morning walk. It gives me time to process, pray, and listen to music.

I'm super interested in veterinary medicine. I’ve been able to explore it and hope for this to be my career. However, I may end up doing Bible college. Currently, I work as a camp counselor and am loving it!

I will always try my best to do all things through Christ, my Savior and Lord.

God has helped me tremendously recently with my anxiety and depression. I feel unexplainable peace and joy - I want everyone to experience this! Being Christian does not mean there is no pain, sorrow, or hardships - I've definitely had my fair share of struggles and continue to fight through them. But remember that God is always with you. Always - no matter what. And He will lift you up again, and again, and again. His love and grace are endless!

Also, just so people understand me a bit better, I'm diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, anxiety, and I struggle with bouts of depression. It makes normal things hard for me, I might act odd, say something weird, forget to respond, or not be on for a couple of days, but please don't treat me differently even though I am different. (That sounds controversial...) I also have a lot of trouble understanding sarcasm or jokes, and lots of physical/social issues (poor eye contact, stuttering, repetitive movements, sensitivity to stimuli, very poor to non-existent social life/interactions) These definitely have a huge impact on my day-to-day life. I’m working on improving though! There are only a few people in my life (I can count on one hand) who I trust. I’m pretty lonely in real life, so I love chatting with everyone here!

I love music! I like contemporary Christian music. A few of my favorite artists are Danny Gokey, Tauren Wells, Shane & Shane, For King and Country, Casting Crowns, NF, Matthew West, Leanna Crawford, and many more. A few secular artists that I like are Nassi, BLÜ EYES, and all the Hamilton songs.

If I ever seem rude or not thoughtful, please let me know. My intention is to always be thoughtful and kind, but sometimes I will mess up, and I apologize.

Everyone has their opinions! I respect you! I may not agree with you, but I get that this world is made to be diverse. People can make their own decisions. Don't judge. You don't have to agree with others, but you can respect that they may not think the same thing as you.

Let me know if I also accidentally post anything inaccurate, hurtful, or irrelevant. I try to check my work, but I do make plenty of mistakes!

I'm not super active publicly, but I am checking in almost every day. I'll try to remember to respond, but I have a lot going on right now.
