I just have to say that I feel much better only having raccoons & coyotes to worry about. You have, not only bears but GRIZZLIES??? I felt a pang of anxiety just reading that. Lol

For the first time my new chicks won't be spending their first weeks in my house. Ill be building a brooder box in my existing run. They will be separated from the larger hens. I feel like I have to rethink how I keep them warm. Please any advice appreciated!

I think using th I think using those panels would be fine. If they don't have shade you could over part of it with a tarp. You could also cut out square windows & screw in hardware cloth to cover for ventilation.
