    Plant daylilys they like eating the slugs that crawl on the plants but don’t hurt the plants. Daylilys have dozens of colors and grow high enough to hide the chickens.🐓

    how to select the right coup and run. I have been looking at tractor supply at coups and runs for about 14 to 16 chickens, why only 3 nesting boxes.

    I bought a coop at TS. I attached 1x6 ground contact would to bottom standing on end. Painted it with good outdoor paint. After three years the roof rotted from rain water. It’s now under a covered run. Good luck.

    Cover as much of the run with aviary netting. But it catches leaves etc. wear out in 2 or 3 yrs.

    Whole flock gone

    Just before Thanksgiving 2022 I lost six hens and one rooster. I have cameras and saw a fisher exiting the coop. It was very hard to go in the coop to remove the dead.     Hi, I would squirt your chicken with water each time she pecks you. Had a RIR blindside me. Squirting didn’t work so I gave her to a family on Craigslict.

    How do I prevent hawks while free ranging?

    I have aviary netting covering my runs. They measure about 50 ft square. I lost two hens to hawks before the netting. Watch out for Fishers! One got in my coop and killed 6 hens. How do I protect against them?
