Anddddddd his first offspring sprung today in the hatcheroo! Some from a blue hen and some from a hen with similar coloring as his.

I drove to Prattville AL today to deliver 1 hen (black) and 15 chicks. I no sooner got there and a neighbor was at the gate.. She bought 5 babies! What doesn't sell today go to the Prattville swap tomorrow with Carlos. In exchange for the black hen I brought back 'Nube' a white NN silkie...

Thank you! I had chosen two possible roosters to put her with. A nephew or another nephew. The front most rooster in the group, or Gunner. They both have 'outside' lines via the fathers.

I've finally gotten a Calico Splash female (red white and blue). The colors are so diluted and blend together. All and all she's still a charmer, and I have several people wanting to snatch her from me.

Another gorgeous bird, I salute you! Now for a question, What color male would you put with this pullet when she's ready. She's red, white and blue (so patriotic). I'm assuming the female version of a calico splash.

A) She isn't old enough yet. B) They are brother and sister, sooooo, I have to carefully choose mates for them.

I found that breeding Splash to Partridge gives you a shot at calico splash. Been working on that for over a year. There's a thread on that. The males have stronger coloring, while the females are pale.

Definitely got some chipmunks (partridge) kids, possibly a red pyle or two, and potential calico splash and a buff. Wait 3 weeks until body feathers begin to appear and ask again. :)

Oh is hatching time, I'm going to be brokeeeeee... I rescued several eggs from General Lee's pen after they fell from the nest where two of the ladies are sitting. He's got 4 ladies in all, and I don't know which hen this came from. One is his daughter, and two are f2's out of Lancelot and...

How about these colors? The two buffs are full siblings while the light blue is a half sibling.

I've got a duffus roo in with my older big girls. I don't think he knows which end is up since I've never gotten a fertilized egg from that pen.
