I don't have a fence. Honestly never needed one till they moved in. I have 3 acres used tove in the country now not so much. I've called called animal control but they don't come out. And know they are damaging property too. This is the only time I've ever wanted an HOA. I'm just looking for a...
I'm sorry, I'm new to this. I didn't get them. My neighbors dogs are out all the time and they come to my yard and chase my chickens regularly, one lost all his tail feathers from it. I have spoken with them to no avail. I just want to let them out in my yard and am looking for options.
I have raccoons but they can't get in where my chickens are. I feed them a variety of stuff Scratch and peck layers feed, feed store layers feed, meal worms, oysters shell, corn, plus the plethora of insects here in so Texas. The weather's been sunny and moderate. We had cold snap in February...
She is not yet a year old. She started laying eggs regularly last November. Her "sister" died mysteriously 2 months ago and she has laid 1 egg since then. Any ideas of what's going on?
I have a hen who started laying eggs last November, she was 5 mo old. She always lays on the same place. She hasn't laid an egg in 7 days. Is that normal?
The dominant one doesn't go up in the trees he actually never gets far from the pen because the hens are in it. The non dominant rooster wanders farther away.
Thank you I like that last idea alot and I have been wanting to let them out more. Since they already have a place where the go to roost I the pen will they return to it at night?
If your talking about the white one that's my rooster, one of 2 already full grown. I have 5 that are 11 weeks and 3 are looking more like roosters every day...chicken math has not been in my favor. I hatched them hoping for more 🤷♀️ OH well
They are in our old dog kennel that is 6ft X 12ft. With a shelter in the back. I'm new to this so I don't have a run set up yet. I have been thinking of free ranging them but I'm worried about raccoons. I have one rooster that I've recently been letting run loose in the yard.
