Review by '' on item 'Belgian d'Uccle'

I had a Porcelain Duccle pair a few years ago. We started letting them out to free range. One day we left to go into town and the Duccles were missing. I now raise Mille Fleurs in a 20 by 50 foot wire mesh topped run with a small tree, grape vines and a huge shade tarp for relief during the...

Worms & Respiratory Disease - Rooster Booster Worked!!!

I read further about the Rooster Booster Multi action wormer and found that you need to feed this for 5 days. I have to admit I can't remember if it was from the manufacture or a hatchery. One hatchery said they add this to there feed at the first of every month. I would go to the source...

Review by '' on item 'Australorp'

I purchased these birds as chicks and love the breed. They are a very calm breed. I can count on them for a few eggs in the winter when my Easter eggers slow down. I love there dark soulful eyes. The breed has done well in my area even when the temps go up past 100 in the summer and minus in the...

Review by '' on item 'Marans'

I just bought a pair of French Black Copper Marans this spring to see if they were as wonderful as my Cuckoo Marans. I havent owned the French Black long enough to see if they will come up to me like my Cuckoo Marans. The hen and rooster are very sweet of the Copper variety so far. The hen lays...

Ended Tell Us Your Funniest Chicken Story to Win Six Bags of Feed from Nutrena!

I wish i had a video going the day I came home to jump out of my car and quickly let all the birds out to free range. I had my sandals on and didn't think about my toes being exposed. First most of the chickens ran out of the gate, I went to open the ducks door and realized it is not a good...

Need to get rid of FLYS!!! they are constantly on the chickens and ducks food. Any ideas?

The only way I know is to buy those traps that have attractant in a container. Flys go in and don't come back out. Its a good year for bugs. It was warm all winter giving bugs a leg up at spring to multiply early. Fleas, we spray every week. Letting my birds free range isn't an option for us...

Comment by 'americanamama' in item 'Khaki Campbell'

I am growing two Khaki's right now to lay eggs. I read that they lay from around 300 to 365 eggs in a year. Great layers! Wonderful eggs also for baking. They are nervous ducks. Have fun. They are fun to take to our pond for a big swim. If you have a high door frame for the ducks to go in and...
